Director Ringo Lam, whose City on Fire and Prison on Fire rank as classics of Hong Kong crime cinema, returns with more fiery action in the 2016 thriller Sky on Fire. Daniel Wu (Overheard) leads an impressive cast that includes Wild City's Joseph Chang, Amber Kuo (Keeper of Darkness), Zhang Jingchu (Overheard), television star Zhang Ruoyun (Sparrow) and Hong Kong staples Philip Keung, Wayne Lai and Eddie Cheung.
After losing his wife to cancer, Chong Tin Po (Daniel Wu) joined the security team of Sky Number One, an elite medical facility that is developing a cure to cancer. Ko Yuk (Zhang Jingchu) has been leading the "Super Stem Cell" research since a mysterious fire claimed the life of her mentor, Professor Poon, five years ago. However, her husband, Sky Number One's president Tong, is only concerned with making money.
Believing that Sky Number One is his last hope, Chia Chia (Joseph Chang) brings his cancer-stricken sister Jen (Amber Kuo) to Sky Number One to seek medical treatment. While waiting at the facility, the two suddenly find themselves in the middle of a blazing battle. Chong's security team gets attacked and the successfully developed Super Stem Cell is stolen in a robbery orchestrated by Poon's son (Zhang Ruoyun), who is investigating his father's death.
